Found this #6 at a junk store in Mooresville NC. It was located out in the woods by a construction crew. There's a few parts that could be used but, it's pretty much roached out. Apparently it followed me home

The grates appear to be in good shape & they are the desirable 3 sided grates (can't think what they are actually called) ? prismatic ?

Yes, prismatic is the name used by some. Glenwood called them "triangular" in their literature.

If it was in better condition, yeah there's a bunch of guys looking to get a #6.freetown fred wrote: ↑Sat. Jan. 20, 2018 10:48 pmGottcha Tony. Thanx. Surprised some of the BB guys aren't all over it??
They likely shy away from it because heavy rust pitting like that weaken the castings. Like the perforations where you tear out a bank check from your check book, deep rust pitting can help cause cracks. Plus, those cracks in the firepot skirt might indicate cracks in the firepot ?? And if there's heat stress cracks there, very likely then base chamber has cracks, too, which can happen with a #6.
Unfortunately, there's not much usable for the critical parts a #6 owner might want as spares. The parts it has that are usable, such as the grate bars and secondary air gas ring, are being reproduced already.
