I'm going to be looking at a stove today that I found in an online ad. According to the seller, it's a Sears, Roebuck & Co. Model No. 641.100041 No. 26. and can burn wood or coal.
I can't find any information online about this particular model and how old may be, along with other details. The pictures of the stove from the ad are attached to this post.
I can probably get it for around $100. I was wondering if anyone here is familiar with this model and could tell me how old it is, and perhaps some other details, such as whether or not it would be suitable for anthracite. It would be used for heating a basement area.
Thanks!

Familiar with the style--she's a heat monster. $100.00??? Get her, fill her up, light her & enjoy the heat. Just look for any obvious cracks in the cast & grates work smooth--ya got a chimney to plug her in?

I got it for $90.
It was actually smaller than it looked in the pictures, but has a very nice sized fire box/pot in it. The grate in it moves smoothly, the fire bricks are decent, and there were no cracks anywhere in the case. It was very well taken care of, and it looks like it should burn anthracite without any issues.

Very nice, enamel finished cabinet yet to boot.
A good cleaning up and for the money you’ve got some very cheap heat!

Can you post pictures of the sides and back of the stove? It looks similar to a chicken brooder stove.MixMatched wrote: ↑Sun. Nov. 01, 2020 12:09 pmHello. I have an old Sears Automatic S755 says 1928. I cannot find it anywhere. Anyone have more information?

Its definitely a chicken brooder stove that is missing its draft control arm.
There were two air filled wafer thermostats mounted on the control arm.
When cold, the wafers were collapsed and one linkage opened the lid to the primary air intake while another closed the secondary air intake on the upper side.
As the room heated up, the wafers expanded and gradually closed the primary and opened the over fire secondary damper.
The primary air damper was part of the draft control arm, and was bolted to the side of the stove .
