Well the family and I made it to Bryant Stoves and Music in Thorndike, Maine and I will never forget the amazing stoves and folks there. When you walk in the shop you are greeted by Acme Corona with it's 60-70 windows and it's huge sunburst nickel crown. I think it had a 16inch pot, maybe bigger. My 9 yr old son is dwarfed by the stove. This stove is intimidating to stand next too, you find yourself talking to it and carefully touching expecting a response from the sleeping beast.

Yes there are hundreds of stoves there and antique cars, pianos, and other stuff to see but best of all are the wonderful people running the store. Unfortunately you sense the business may not be around much longer but hopefully I am wrong. I plan to go back soon hoping to bring back something heavy and beautiful.
They also sell stoves that have NOT been restored at a great savings...so please get yourself there before it is just a memory.

Never been there, but it's on the bucket list.

I have bought stove parts from them for my GW 118's (that no other shop had ) and they were very nice to deal with. And I thought their prices were very reasonable.

For now, I can only tour their place by the many You Tube videos. https://www.youtube.com/results?search_ ... +and+Music

Hopefully, they will continue to be there.

Paul

There is an acre of land behind the store with a path weaving through 1000's of stoves and parts. My next trip I think I will bring a tent...a few hours or 1 day is not long enough...
I invited the son-in-law to the site, (not as a business), but just a presence in the antique. Both us and them would benefit.

Wow! I had no idea of the extent of the place. The time and effort to restore all that is mind blogging. A business stuck in a time warp of a past century.

To get an idea of the size of their operation, you can see it (bird's eye view ) on Google Earth.

Just put, " Bryant Stoves and Music in Thorndike, Main" in the search box in the upper left hand corner of the Google Earth page, then just hit the "search" button. It'll go right to their location. Then you can zoom in closer.

Certainly a place for an antique stove lover's bucket list !!!!

The youtube video showed that they were mostly cookstoves and wood stoves. The toys were more interesting to me. I went to Wilsons once and my wallet is still recovering. I went there with Shelley and only after 25 minutes did I remember that I had brought the wife and left her in the car ... it took a bit to recover from that one as well. One of you guys should go and take a decent video.

WOW! Its worth looking it up for those of you that understand google earth. I can only imaging the number of miles that were driven to buy all those stove parts!

Gas, wear and tear and your time has to costed out and someone has to ride shotgun. Only to find out the things you thought you were buying is not there, or broken. If you had a conscience you would drive over to Eyota, Minnesota past the 11800+ lakes and do a video for us. I want that K7.
