Picked up a Wood & Bishop Clarion 115 on Tuesday.

Too some members, you seen this before.

Got the stove at the new lower price. Needs some fixes., like new barrel, recast draw center and grate,
maybe indirect damper. One crack to weld.
Here's pics.

Check that stove over REAL good. I made the trip and passed it up. Tons of hairline cracks throughout the base. Grate and grate support are in bad shape and the internal damper in the rear pipe is completely wrong. Best of luck!

cleaned base chamber with shop vac today, it was packed full of ash.
Got legs and supports blasted and polished. Doors taken all apart.

Direct/indirect damper easy fix.
Internal check damper crack in wall, the check damper rod just fell off it's all there.
Any cracks are not to hard or costly to fix.
Did not pay much for it.

From the picture resolution shown, so far so good. The thin "firepot" casting and upper base/grate support are the critical areas. Fingers crossed. What is the grate diameter and depth of the pot....from the top of the bricks to the grate?

S.B . Outside pics not done yet

Scott
Grate 13" dia. Depth in front 11" back 14". Barrel is 17x30 inch.
Fire pot is in good shape. Grate support base not good, couple cracks. Been practicing CI welding with CI rod.
I can use the 2 1/4'' hold down rods as filler. If I don't like the way it turns out, something else for recast.

That is a big pot, it will throw some heat for sure.

Is there a clean-out under the ash pan or just the two rectangular rear clean outs?

Looking good Artie. The bricks look pretty good in the picture. Did you try taking them out ?

Got a little more done.
Cleaned slag off of bricks with angle grinder. Used a coarse tooth hacksaw blade to clean out behind
bricks and fire pot, to get some wiggle room.

Nothing cleaned up, just taken apart.
Some pics.
