I'm definitely liking the "roller" grate support thingy ;) ... for a smooth shake down

I'd drop the fire brick right into the round file though.....

I think this is the first Clarion base burner exposed here soooo... more pics please!!!

One more request, if I may....what are the width and height of the load door opening?

What is the Thingy called , that looks like a rear brake drum brake pad. Goes over draw center handle, to slow air intake in that area.

It just seals out what would be uncontrollable primary air. It fits over the draw grate handle and mounts in the upper portion of the base castings. Have you taken the base apart yet?

Nice! You'll be able to heave coal in straight from the hod 8-)

This Clarion 115 seems to be a very large stove. I wonder how it stacks up size wise with the venerable Glenwood 113 and rare as hens teeth Crawford 50?

Base is next on list.

Cool weather is coming little bit of yard work, little bit of stove work.

As per earlier post. Base clean out doors are in the very back beside back pipe. Not back corner , not sure if I was clear enough.

I believe the gas path on this Clarion is identical to the Our Glenwood stoves.

That's been abused for sure. Nothing that can't be fixed though. Having that grate support/ top casting re-cast may present shrinkage issues. My Stewart had the same damage (not quite as bad) and Skip repaired it. You've got your work cut out for you. It'd be a good idea to start looking for another one for parts.

My G109 was abused as well. The pot was trashed and the grate support was cracked in several spots. They were burning wood in it for sure. The base chamber was covered in creosote. Skip worked his magic on it and now she's back in service. Best of luck!

Almost ready to send parts out for recast.
Got a little more sanding and paint touch up.
Fixed grate with a clothes pin. Repaired draw center with 5/16 key stock.
