My both together 100# figure comes from 50# DS on fire and 50# out of 100# in Wm on fire at one time. (Roughly)
ah ha, now i get it. disreguard the former post.

the new posts don't do much to dismiss the idea that that is one good size stove. even the ash pit seems nearly as big as the oven in some early kitchen stoves :o

Got the 111 by 2" all around MB. Mine is 12 wide, 14 deep, and 6" tall. How much coal did you say you could stuff into that pot?
Those pics look "so" similar. Thanks.

Little stars on load door hinge post thingy.
Wood and Bishop have some very nice touches on their stoves.

BTW, that type of hinge is called a pintle and gudgeon. It's also commonly used for small sailboat rudders.

Wonderful numbers, MB !!!!!

And that's with it running on cold air,.... while working on half the firepot heat volume, ..... and with a very short, low draft strength chimney. Good example of what those old base heaters can do under much less than ideal conditions. ;)

Too bad those boot rails weren't handles. Sure would make it easier carrying in and out of the garage.
I see there just so happens to "not" have any snow around your stove. So what coal is there inside burning?

Stove burnt out at 10:30 am. Roughly 25 hrs on 25#.

Looks like it is going to be a dirty stove. When shaking ash rolls out the
primaries.

Need to seal some leaks for indoor use.

A pound an hour is great. But at that rate will it put out enough heat volume to heat the area you want it too ?

Doesn't have to be dirty when shaking ash. Might be that it's a result of that short stove pipe chimney not giving as strong a draft as an indoor chimney would ????

If I hurry to shake ash and don't let the draft build up enough first, I sometimes get ash dust coming out of the primary's, too. With my range, the ash pan extends out under the primaries which are on an angle, so it is easier for ash to come out than if the pan was further back into the stove base like it is with my base heater. And it's far more likely to happen when I rotate the grates each morning and it dumps a lot of the over-night ash buildup quickly.

I've learned that after opening the MPD and putting the stove in DD I watch the mano. When the draft gets above .05 it's strong enough going in the primaries that dust can't come out. And, I only have to wait about 10-15 seconds for the mano reading to rise enough. If I open the dampers and immediately shake ash, I know I'm gonna get ash dust coming out of the primaries.

a pound an hr is a pretty decent idle rate for a stove with grate area the size of the 115.

i've done extended (days) burns at .83 pph and even .75 pph in FRANK which is close to the same in actual open grate area.

soooo........you have LOTS more to call up and still be running at 40 or even less #'s per 24hrs.

great stove, when you get it inside where the heat isn't just floating into space i think you're going to be really :D
