This is the stove I went and got out of a cabin in the Adirondacks and brought back to Virginia then on to Taylorsville NC to be refurbished.

Boy that's a pretty stove. Build a fire in it so you don't have to dust it.

Looks like the original Andes wood plate. Has some cracks and needs recasting. Not a wood burner though.

Steve; looks like the Andes is set up for a magazine. From what I've read here on the forum it had an adjustable magazine. Love to have/find one or have one fabricated

This stove is one of the absolute best base heaters ever made. They are rare and you need to realize that you have a real treasure. Don't even think about desecrating this stove by burning wood in it.

I've seen 1 Oakvale Andes on this forum and it was of smooth castings. Only anthracite coal will be burnt in this stove.. I do understand it's a very rare baseheater. Like you said William , you don't take a boat tail Packard and paint the bumpers. I was fortunate it was a complete stove but needed completely refurbished that's why I took it to Russ at Ginger Creek Stoves to let a professional bring it back to where it should be.
Thanks Tony
