Some of you might remember this G6 posted in the "Craigslist finds" section last week. Well. . . .I couldn't resist. When member Pauliewog said for someone to PM him I jumped. Left the house at 5:00a this morning headed for CT. 12 hours later it's sitting in my garage.

Now I need to stop as I have enough to keep me busy for a while.

Did you get a good night's sleep Phil ?

I know from experience the first few nights I have a tendency to toss and turn until I finally get out of bed and sneak down to check on the new arrival at least every two or three hours.

After a few weeks you should be able to tuck her in, leave a small night light on and get a good solid 5 or 6 hour sleep. Now don't get too comfortable, because once you are ready to fire her up ................ The sleepless nights are going to start all over again ! :D

Thanks guys!

Paulie I did sleep good last night. Only a few hours of sleep the night prior (too excited I guess) followed by the long drive had me ready to sleep when it was bed time. First thing I did, after coffee of course, was go out and look at it!

mtbugy, I think I'm going to stick to getting the 116 done for now. I lack the space to have both of them tore apart but working on that.

Now to figure out what to do after they're done. Right now I don't even have an available chimney for one let alone two but I'm working on that also.

So Phil, do you now own a couple stokers and a couple antiques?
(congrats on the new acquisition.) :)

Yeah Joe I now have four total. Koker lite in the basement that heats the house and an Alaska in the garage. The plan was to swap the alaska with the 116 but now it looks like it will be the G6. At some point that garage will serve as a den/mancave so the antique will fit right in.

Now what to do with the surplus. . . .

Put a metal chimney on your house, and put the 116 in the living area, where it can be viewed and appreciated.

The GW6 and the 116 have similar sized firepots, but the GW6 will extract and throw more heat for the same amount of coal burned. Put the GW6 where you want the most heat, or the longest burn times before needing tending. ;)

Joe the wife and I spend as much time in the garage as what we do the living area so it will be viewed and most definitely appreciated. I have thought about the stainless chimney in the living area but the garage once converted will be a better home.

The Alaska runs off of powervent but I think I'm going to build a nice hearth and chimney for out there. Essentially design that living space with the antique as the focal point. Most of this is except for the chimney will be a while but the truth is I enjoy the work that goes into these things as well as learning some new skills along the way.
