Here I am sitting 15 feet away from the 116 because I'm burning coal that farmers had in a metal five gallon milk can for 800 years. Haven't met him but he gave it to Caecile and her husband because they told him about my old stoves. I've held on to it but burning it now.

But!!!! I came down this morning and the house was warm, even the kitchen. About 68 and 2010 degrees upstairs. No. It was nice upstairs and Wim Hof has gone back to work so no one opened a window.
I'm thinking of moving closer to coal. What burning coal does to the soul defies definition and I feel sooooo happy this morning! It's impossible imagine with all the crap going on in the world. Coal creates in man an indomitable spirit. Keeping it in the scuttle didn't accomplish the same thing at all

And because the house was so delightfully warm I looked at the front panel that Wim Hoff removed. It slides on sideways. No way from below and he couldnt have undone the screw. I think it got in his way so he removed it. No harm done.
Not so easy to find in Canada so I over worry.

I had no idea what warring birds wrens are. I was so happy that a chickadee had a nest in the garden and from one day to the next a different bird was there and I read that wrens throw the babies out and take over. Terrible.

My mother called me Jenny Wren sometimes but I don't think I ever saw a Wren til this year. We've had Cardinals and chickadees and all sorts. I'm reading that a Wren can clear the neighbourhood. So strange.

Just in case anyone's interested it's a very beautiful stove and interesting too in Peterborough, a couple of hours away from Cobourg, across the lake from Rochester. No photos of the inside and the seller suggests not firing it up but what he doesn't know won't hurt him.
