Does anyone have any info or specs on the Andes 418 stove? Just curious, there is one on the local Clist.

Thanks!

I'm not sure how much different they are, but here is a link to Randy's 517 thread. I think he has some info on others, you could check with him.

The 418 is not listed in any of the literature I have. I am not sure how different they are from my model stoves.

OK, I take that back.

on a hunch I loaded my "catch them all" secret search terms and found it.

of course i'm not sayin where or how, neither do I know anything about that model stove. could be an Oak or some other configuration.

stick with the seller and post details as you are comfortable.

best of luck,
steve

Good, that eases my mind. I posted an Andes to the Craiglist thread here and I was hoping it wasn't the one that dhansen was looking at. It isn't.

Ah, it is in the Cayuta series stoves. That is a much newer oak model stove that came a few years after the stoves in my catalog. I looked at a Cayuta stove about a year ago and it was strictly a oak style. I am not sure what options were available for it when it was new.

This is very, very late model indeed. This one dates from the 1920's. This model was the economy model of the Andes Oak. They were still an Andes, thus; a high, high quality product. These were are direct draft oaks. I wouldn't think twice about owning one of these.

Thanks guys.

My daughter turned up unexpectedly for Christmas and needless to say I got distracted! She had previously said she wasn't coming home this year (she's in Tacoma, WA and we are in Maine) so I had set myself up for a bummer of a Christmas. Oh how she turned that around, the sneaky little girl. What a joy it was to have her home.

The Andes 418 was on the Maine Craigslist and is still listed. I figured it was an oak heater but wanted to be sure. Thanks!
