Keep the balaclava close by ... the cold air is right behind you.

I was looking at the image of the inside of your Sparkle. Looks like you did a casting of refractory cement in the pot. Is that right?

If so, how thick is the cement and how long do you expect it will hold up?

The Sparkle looks fantastic.

Thanks neighbor! The refactory a.k.a. ram-set is approx 7/8" thick. I used 90% of the block...I think the block weighed 70lbs. I think the ram-set will hold up well, meaning 5 yrs at the least. The stoves burns everything down to powder so clearing is quick and painless. I want to make my own this summer with a mixture of Portland cement, fire clay, and Perlite, (the little white pieces you see in a bag of potting soil.

It will be interesting to see if you get favorable end results with the baro like Tommy does. I bet your consumption goes down a bit per amount of heat delivered.

I’m thinking yes🤔

Could you please try to run with the MPD closed and adjust the baro via the draft gauge (not the numbers on the baro door weight scale) to read say .02-.04 below the MPD? I’m thinking this will always keep stove draft reasonable yet chimney draft will still be maintained at a nice higher cushion.

Then post the results 🤪🤪🤪

It's a terrible thing. News reports describe him as being very well liked in the community.
A neighbor and friend of mine in Bridgewater mentioned that he thought Wayne's was a family run business.

Him and his brother were in business at one time, his brother runs a cleaning business. Wayne was into landscape/snow removal along with an enormous marijuana grow in a large commercial building I worked in when it was a custom cabinet shop. He had many such facilities around town, supposably in vacant homes he bought for pennies on the dollar.

A user named LehighanthraciteMatt was keeping a list of Lehigh coal retailers at least around the North East. I think there were only two in Maine and Wayne was one of them.

Post by LehighanthraciteMatt - Lehigh Anthracite Coal Dealers

New Lehigh Bagged Dealer:
Wayne LaPierre and Sons Snow plowing, Millinocket, ME

Maybe you didn't know or maybe he wasn't selling it ??

Seems like for the Chubby folks, Lehigh is the bomb. Was thinking about picking up a few bags to see what all the fuss was about.

If he was selling it was to himself, I do know he was heating a huge agricultural facility  with coal as the pallets were outside in the parking lot...strictly a business move. If he was selling I would have known, small town and info moves fast ;)
