Welcome to the forum. Can you get pictures of the inside of the stove? That would help a lot, but I see no 'over fire air damper' which would indicate use with anthracite coal.

Welcome to NEPA, so pleased you showed up and brought your stoves.

Fellow members - Wcsandblast is a gentleman I've just meet from an encounter on craigslist.

I couldn't tell him much about his stoves but I said the guys on NEPA could help him out.

I see a budding coaler in this guy. He has a good set of hands on him and does a fine job refurbishing. :D

Hi there Wcsandblast.

That is a cheerful looking little stove. Outwardly it appears to be a woodburner but we need photos of the interior to confirm its specific design use.

Will you be using it yourself?

Please show us more of your stoves!

Here is a picture of inside bottom of my stove it is 23" length 16" wide oval in shape
Almost finished with project picked up the finished nickel plating yesterday
The guy that was wrapping finish pieces dropped left foot rest broke in half
Stripping part than repair or recast start over again:)

Anyone have any idea the age of this stove was it coal or wood?

Looks great.

I'd say it's a wood stove with just that flat bottom and no built-in shaker grate system.

And it may have had some type of simple, removable cast iron grate that sat on that bottom pan to keep the wood up out of the ashes ????

Welcome to the forum. It's a woody my friend. A coal stove would need movable grates to allow air from beneath the fire and movement to shake the ashes in to a pan below. It looks like a mid 18th century parlor stove for the more privileged folks of the time.

edit...nice work!

Are the radiant home 218 a common or rare stove?

Here is a catalog that does have your stove listed on page 27. I do not know how rare they are but I do not see them come through these pages very often.

Another Welcome, WC. You're holding back on us, aren't ya? Nobody has beautiful stoves like those, and fixes them up, W/O knowing what they're doing? Are we on "Candid Camera"? :D
All kidding aside, these guys will show you the way, and keep them pictures coming. (By the way, did anyone tell ya, WE LOVE PICTURES?)
