Just wanted to pass along, that I've finally joined the "elite" antique coal burners society, by purchasing a stove off our column "burners on Craigslist". Have to start off by thanking confedsailor for posting it, and Scott and Josh for supplying info.
It was listed as a "Taunton Stove Co wood/coal burner", and listed for $850. The pic looked pretty clean, and it was relatively local, and decided to take a peak. (Even tho it was out of my price range).
long story short, when he showed it to me the words "splattered" on the frt was "OUR GLENWOOD 111"!
I almost freaked, and was amazed that he dropped his price quite a bit, so I could take it home. My camera battery is dead, so I'll get some pics later on. Please help with advice and info on this piece of art. I've looked at some of the previous chatter on this site concerning 111s, but they don't really go in-depth.

57 on up, to be announced.

Congratulations. You have wanted something like this for a long time. I think you can move the exhaust collar to the height you need if necessary.
Open those rear bottom clean outs and check the integrity of the inner plates.
Tending will be different but at last you will get those long burn times you longed for. Top notch efficiency too.

I'll second that question ^^^^^^^^^^ Joeq, are you just trying to make us all suffer longer ? Haven't we suffered enough following your painful diary of the surdiac ?I've been praying that you could find a better stove & now you've done it Last winter I was looking for my first coal stove, yet I felt worse for you even tho you had a coal stove.I HATE using oil, propain,ng or electric for heating, since we were burning wood & none of those "easy" fuels,i felt you needed a good stove worse than we did so you could get off that other heating fuel stuff. You managed to get a beautiful stove too,i prefer the simplistic beauty that stove has over some of the ones with so much "bling" that they look like they fell into a jewelry chest on their way out of the factory. Congratulations againfranco b wrote:What is this few more months? Surely you mean days?joeq wrote:Thanx men, I'll get some pics in a few. But do me a favor please. " Shhhh. That's one giant leap from a Surdiac to a Our Glenwood 111.
Lets see a pic of the refractory brick lining and grates.
