I went to Wilson's Woodstoves today to look at stoves and cars. Needless to say, I was not disappointed. Cars-WOW! He's got some toys! Stoves:"Brand new-second hand-new to me" 1904 Herald oak, 14" lined pot, triangular grates, with a back pipe. I spent 3 hours touring his inventory, and still probably missed a few 'pots of gold'. The Herald will be ready this Summer, so when I go back, it will be warm outside, and I ain't leaving 'til I see it all! Wilson is one of the finest gentlman you will ever meet. Thank you, Wilson. You made me a 'happy coaler'.
Cheers

Three hours? Yeah, you missed alot ! :D I was there seven hours and still didn't get to see everything ! :D

And yes, he's a great host, as well as a wealth of info and fascinating life stories of more than just stoves.

When you go back to pickup the Herald, I hope you both have extra time to spare and share. ;)

Paul,
It was reading your thread when you were picking up your Glenwood #6, you mentioned the Chevys.
So , I got there, and I'm going back. I'm outta chimneys, so I'm safe there, but the cars, eh!!!! I learned along time ago, you don't ask if it's for sale, cuzz, you will be buying it! Wilson said, "They're all registered. I drive them." And the stoves in that house-I got lost! I wished it had been a warmer day.
Next time....
Cheers

Pancho,
That has to be a 10 or 12 room house, with a stove in every room, nice. I think it has secret passage ways, too. Wilson has a black/white cat, and we would go from one room to another, and the cat would be there, but he wasn't following us. Just a little 'spooky'!

...and each room has a chimney.

Very cool setup he has....though he should think of printing off a map for customers.

:D

Wilson let us take lots of pictures while we were there and I still can't remember where half the stuff in the pictures was. :D

Here's a pic of Wilson's buddy letting us know that picking the #6 (that we was standing in front of at the time) was a good choice. And my bunch agree that having a Glenwood is always a good choice. :D

UPDATE: Wilson notified me that the recast grates for the Herald are back from the foundry, and they fit perfectly! Back pipe next, movin' forward, ho! He has 2 extra sets of grates. One more 'atta boy' for Wilson, ............. and now if all this snow would just 'go away', enough all ready!
Cheers

Wilson,

Gotta burn off the new paint stink anyway, put the Herald on a dolly and fire it up. Then, just keep moving it further and further out the shop door toward the road. It'll melt a path ! :D

Sorry to ask a silly question but does Wilson have a website. I have searched the net and can't seem to find it unless I overlooked it. Also didn't see one in his profile? Any help is appreciated!

If'n you just show up at his place with a snow shovel in hand, he'll probably give you a stove.

Looks like another 12 to 16 inches heading that way on Sunday/Monday. They are getting hammered like we did last year.

Userj8670,
Wilson, like most of us in New England, are up to our azz in snow. In many cases, the "snow removal team = Army of One"! Like Paul said, send a PM or call. He will get back to you. More snow coming Saturday/Sunday.
Cheers
