I had a great visit with Emery and Brandon at the Stove Hospital yesterday.
I decided to bring the Crawford No. 3 down for them to look over.
It turns out it's in pretty good shape. It was converted to kerosene at some point, which helped preserve the firepot. It needs a new barrel and fortunately Emery has the missing trim I need, including a nice nickeled dome - hope he has the finial, as well.
He plans to finish the Hub Heater soon, we dropped off in early June. My wife and I can't wait to see it.
I learned a lot yesterday, especially what serious artists both Emery and Brandon are.

I posted pictures of the Crawford a little while ago (I Got The Crawford NO. 3 For Fifty Dollars).

Good, you took it to Emery. Now, it will be as good as new. The finial is the least of your problems. You can have one cast if someone was kind enough to lend you theirs. I also see them on ebay.
