I could not keep it a secret any longer, I will be bringing home my new baseburner stove hopefully next weekend. It has already been restored by Bryant's in Maine but will need a new barrel if I want it to look pristine. There are a few dents in the barrel but is in complete working condition. William helped me make the decision to buy this stove and I would like to thank him for taking the time to direct me in this purchase. I will attach some photos that Bryant's sent me.

Photog200.... She looks pretty good to me. You could always have the barrel done in the future but I wouldn't even worry about it. Thats one nice stove there. Me and the Buck Model 24 sit back and admire all the works of art put into your stove and many others seen on this site. Lots of luck with her. I know she will perform well for you. Let us know how she does in her new home along with some photo's.

To remake and install the barrel would require taking the entire stove apart again If they rebuilt it already and just re cemented all the seams and firebricks (btw that firebrick looks like a fine mosaic tile job ) then you should not worry about those lil' dents at all (not even noticeable because they smartly used a flat paint). Burn the hell of it for 5 years and someday when your pocket's feelin' kinda flush have it redone then

Can we ask how much this beauty cost please?

I am not planning on changing the barrel for a while, the stove goes into a corner so I don't think many people will even notice the dents. (I will just know they are there)

I have been admiring this stove for over a month trying to decide whether to get it or not...I love the clean simple designs but still very classic.

I don't know any history on it yet...I have not even seen her in person yet. I will try to find out more info next weekend. I do know it was made there in Maine and is named after a mountain there.

I must agree with you about the barrel, am not going to change it this year. I also agree about the firebrick, it is a nice job. Not too familiar with that kind of grate but I hope that style works well.

The make is a Kineo (named after Mt. Kineo there in Maine) The model # is 15. I got it for a good price because of the dents. Final amount to be determined because they are buying my Gem Dockash as a trade in. The beginning figure on their website was $1,600.00, which I was was a pretty good price for a restored base burner.

I agree about their pricing...the only downside is the 7 hr. drive to get there. I just bought a cook stove that is only 1/2 hour from their place so I am not looking forward to that drive again. I am looking forward to getting the stove home though! I just hope it is big enough for my house. It has a 12" pot so I think it will be fine. The Gem Dockash has a 16" pot and actually is too much for the house.

I was at Bryant's yesterday and saw the Kineo with its little "sold" sticker and I wondered if it was you. Congratulations.

Nice stove and Bryants has the best prices and selection. Maine is just too far for me to go for a casual look and my already horribly depleted bank account is safer that way. If you get more history, post it.

Good to hear, I can't wait to see it next weekend. Won't get to test the "serious heat" scenario until next year though.
