Just picked this up. It's very rusty, was sitting outside for at least a year.

Yes there is. I will get a photo of it and post it tomorrow. You can see it in the third photo.

It looks a little shaky in a few spots on the bottom, but I think it can be used. Once I disassemble it I will be able to get a better idea as to the condition. I won't be working on it anytime soon, too many other projects going on. At least now it's out of the weather and dry.
Looks like the moving section of the grate might be broken, and I don't have the shaker handle. Any ideas?

Actually I see it somewhere in my house with a belly full of anthracite.

You should have a nice little oak stove when that is done. I guess the signal is the finial. I wonder if it is a navel signal or emulates a railroad signal. Anyway, I think it is pretty neat.

Hoping someone can help me with this acquisition. It appears to be missing the crown. Should I sandblast it clean? I plan on using it in my garage after my retirement. Is it worth anything? Here is a few pictures:
