That's a great story.. reinforces my belief that most 'LUCK' is really just perseverance and hard work.

I used to work with a guy who thought I was very lucky.. I'd always be coming up with deals, connections, new jobs, etc..
But he just couldn't see that it was ME making LUCK for myself.. by always asking about things, getting up early and going for
breakfast with the trades people, offering free help once in awhile etc..
He always spent his evenings in a bar, and his mornings hungover.. Not much chance of making any luck for yourself doing that !!

I worked several additional part time jobs.

OK, now, how about the story of the dog breaking your ribs ??

The harder you work the luckier you are.

I breed English Mastiffs.I have one boy who is 220lbs.he is like a puppy and when he plays he doesnt know his own strength. He jumped up on me and grabbed me in my lower rib with his paw kinda like a poke,I had a cold and I was coughing but all of a sudden it started to hurt when I coughed, on my lower right side. Then sunday night I sneezed and WHOA that got my attention.Went to Hospital emergency room and doctor poked my rib and it made a sucking popping sound .He said it was broke took xrays any how but he gave me dope and sent me home.I worked on stove today to get stuff ready to go to foundry.Ill get pix up soon Jim

Mastiffdude, during Christmass time my wife fall down in the stairway on her right side: faillures on 2 ribs but not broke. Ribs pain is real pain and I can understand what you mean. Good luck and take care!
Why not a poodle, the small ones :?:

The stove looks fantastic. You did a wonderful job and now we are ready to see it hooked up and in use. You are in for a treat when you feel all of that efficient, radiant heat rolling off of the stove.

Well done Mastiffdude! Looks really nice! Interested to see how it performs for you. You will be using it in addition to the Alaska stoker I imagine?

Nice avatar by the way! Reminds me of a stove I know. ;)
