It was on craigslist for a long time. I find them and forget them because I can't have a house full of stoves. I can not give in to the desire. I have three super stoves and I must resist the urge.
Watch Craigslist. Watch all of the North Eastern states. There is a lot of junk out there, but; if you have eyes to see then you can find a good one. I doesn't hurt if you run it by me first.

I got the stove from Ebay but I negotiated a real good price for it.

Here is some interesting history of that...

Swinton, Shimer & Co. Foundry and Hardware was located in Port Jervis, New York. Part of their operation was the Swinton Stove Company, Manufacturers of Fine Stoves. Exports of thousands of these Swinton Quick Time Stoves went around the world and throughout the nation. One story says one even went to a missionary who was stationed in India. This stove is the "Quicktime Model Number 5". We believe it was manufactured around 1897.The stove is about 63 inches tall from the top of the finial to the bottom of the base. The base measures 26 by 26 inches.

Well ty for that history Mcgiever Yes it was made in 1897 because that date is cast into the back of my stove.I also heard of one more of these being in a Restaurant in New jersey,that one was sold recently.I wish I knew who bought it so I could get a picture of it.

Please show us a lot of photos of this stove from lots of angles, with large file photos so we can expand them and look for details.
I'd love to see enough to be able to figure out the airflow of the exhaust gasses in both direct vent and in BaseBurner mode. Showing the back BB damper would be very helpful and a description of the airflow through the stove would be appreciated.

I looks like this has a suspended firepot, but it is not the type like a Glennwood #9 that the exhaust airflow reverses and goes down around the suspended firepot, but goes out the back, then down to the base. On your stove it appears that the outside of the firepot radiates it's heat through the lower set of doors. and does not heat any air in the stove.. it looks like Piere's [nortcan] 'Golden Bride' air flow.

This is a really nice stove.. William: did this have the kind of 'puffed out' nickle plated casting that looks sort of like a edwardian frilled collar around the top of the stove? sort of puffed out with down and outward facing concave shell shaped heat reflective surfaces?

Yes, the stove is missing the casting between the top of the main body and the top. It is an unusual piece to be missing, but; the good part is that it will not effect the functionality of the stove. The stove will operate just fine without it. Hopefully, he can find one to cast a copy from or find a junk stove that has it.

more pix,,, Heres how this works as far as base burner.when the Back door is open its a direct vent to flue.Back door closed gasses down the left opening into base pot at bottom of stove circulate around and up the right passageway out to flue.there is also 2 vents at back which are I think hot air convection.(double heater)
