I'm looking at a Modern Glennwwod 118 to purchase and have a couple questions. Are all Glennwwods 118 base burners? The one I'm looking at has a plate in the back at the bottom where pipe returns into the base (but no vertical pipe). It does look like a factory made plate. Is the vertical pipe available to purchase on these types of stoves to divert heat downwards into the base.
The stove otherwise is in fair condition. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I will try to attach a pic of the plate.

I have a Glenwood 118.They are not base burners. The pipe setup in back is a 2 position deal. One position is open for direct draft .The other is for indirect draft running the smoke down the pipe then up.Look at my posting further down this list it will explain all you need to know about the stove.

I would be wary if the indirect backpipe is missing. The pipes themselves are easy to source, but the inside divider with the damper are damn near impossible to find.

I have not seen a vertical pipe or damper in person, or for that matter a complete stove. So I'm not sure exactly what is missing or what it might need to be a usable stove. The owner said they used it as is, and I'm sure in the direct vent mode it would. However it is not working at its optimum efficiency. Can one be made to fit? Are the vertical pipe cast iron or steel?
Thanks
Thanks

They are steel, like a thick stove pipe but they have a cast iron divider with a damper hole and damper that goes inside. Those are the hard to find parts.
