Scott - thank you for filling in so much more background about William. He certainly made his mark on this word. In a simple way he's being immortalized by those of us contributing to this thread. I recently heard we're all still alive as long as one soul remembers us ...

I sold William a Glenwood Baseburner I had found locally. I was fortunate to have him over for a visit and give him some home canned items from my garden. Was hoping to head down for a visit but then his health took a turn for the worse. I drifted away from the forum for a few months and was sad to learn of his passing when I returned. We all have fond memories and certain things that remind us of him. Glad to hear from you. Andrew

Words can not describe how i feel right now. Sorry I could not have met him sooner. Definitely an inspiration to me. Someone else who shared my love of the Victorian Era. One of his stoves lives on for another generation to enjoy. See you on the other side Buddy.

The man left his memory on quite a few of us.
Every time I go in or out of my office I walk around the GW #6 he inspired me to search for and I'm reminded of all he did to enlighten so many of us to how great these old base heaters are. Glad I had the chance to thank him and tell him about that inspiration while he was still among us.

Just looking back through this post as William came to mind recently as I purchased my own Glenwood 6. I sold him that Our Glenwood in the photos. He drove up to Massachusetts to pick it up. We had a nice albeit short visit. God rest him.coalnewbie wrote: ↑Tue. Nov. 13, 2018 6:52 pmTwo of Williams stoves I now own.... He did not wish to part with them and I paid him more than he was asking as in both cases as he needed to buy coal. I just do not understand why the railroad did not look after him better in his sickness. These two are now priceless. The third photo is WS stove serving next to his big brother.
