I am another person looking to by a coal grate for a open fireplace. I see that there is one company that offers a fireplace grate, but it is made to hold logs. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Deerhunter

You (can) burn anthracite in a fireplace but most of it won't get burned and you'll waste your money. :( Anthracite is pickey and needs air from underneith on a grate. It also likes a wall around it so it can help the pieces burn as a team as they need each other for warmth. Where bit. only needs air mostly from underneith.
