Hello!

I can't believe it's been 7 years since I started annoying you guys.
:o

I guess it's time to start thinking about these things.
Got some coal in yesterday.
4 tons of nut coal $538 delivered.
That included $150 for trucking.

Coal is down a little bit but hauling went up.
My cheap hauler vanished

Wish he could have hauled one more ton.
With what I had left I think I could have made it all the way through.

If all my wood gets dry enough I'll be in great shape.
I might use 1/2 cord/year.

I was a little late cutting my wood.
I had an oak that was about 30' tall and 16-18" at the base.
When I cut it up and tried to split it, it was really wet.

Tried the moisture meter the other day and the prongs wouldn't go very far in, it was that hard.
I have a little bit left over from last year to get me going.

Not anxious to get firing again.
That means it's cold

As I get a little older, I feel the cold a little more

Hope to talk to you all

What a difference a year makes.

Last year, I started burning on November 1st and burned continuously until the end of February.
I only stopped then because I was having sinus issues that I (probably erroneously) blamed on burning coal.

Except for a couple days during a cold snap a couple weeks ago, I haven't started serious burning yet because it's been too warm.

Looks like that may change next week.

Stay toasty.
