Hello, I do not know if I posted in the correct forum.
I am new to coal I have built an OWB that is like a barrel stove but with proper insulation and lots of copper pipes (on the outside of it, not inside of it), it works great. I have bought Lignite coal, and I have made a grate that has less spacing than the one below that is for wood, and i made in such a way i can rock it and shake ashes out. Is that possible that by volume, i get the same volume as the coal I put in in ashes??

The ash is fluffy, while the lignite is dense. By weight is the only way to compare.
