Florence No. 77

I had a thread in the anthracite. Figured I'd better move here since I plan on using bit if the local stuff will work.

Will 6" pipe squeeze over the oval? I don't see any provisions for a mechanical fastener? Is drilling a screw hole in the flange acceptable?

Should I use mpd or Baro? Planning on burning bit.

Also if anyone knows what size that acme screw in the bottom back side that controls the air is I need to get one.

No Not likely , check your PM, the stove was built for Bit, use an MPD.. IMHO.....

I should be able to weld a t handle to an acme screw. I just wondered if anyone knew the thread pitch off hand. I don't have any acme thread pitch gauges. Hopefully it's not some oddball pitch. It looks like it was patented in 1899 so maybe if I'm lucky they used standard machining practices.

It's probably not--the stove was built before the genus's got hold of it!!!

How much rise is needed before making a 90* turn in the stove pipe? Since this is going in the basement there isn't much headroom.

Wrap a string around the oval exhaust and measure it. 6 inch pipe is close to 19 inches around, 18.85 inside..

You need enough rise to install the MPD if you want.
