I know how hard coal is when you try to burn it on a warmer day but how does soft coal react to burning when it starts to get warmer as far as creating enough draft. My flu from basement to top of house is around 36ft and I know when it's cold out my flu creates one heck of a draft sucking dust from my clean out and up the flu like a vacumn.

I've burnt bituminous when it's 60 outside with no problems. Sounds like you have a good draft so it should be good to go.
