I've always known about the ability to turn on the room-air fan (MANFAN) but have not really used it that much until this week. (I think this is the "coal burning as a hobby" part) What a difference! The house temp increasing by at least 3* just by running it for maybe 45min without using more coal. My stove will be at 425-450* then I turn on the MANFAN and the heat washes off the stove dropping it to about maybe 350*. (This is on a LL Econo I) I also noticed that the temp in my bedroom at the other end of the house gains a few degrees and is a more comfortable 69*.

Yes, I use mine all the time to heat it up faster in the room, I put on maybe 40-50%+ to move a bit more air around when it on low.
I have a 3rd fan for my bonnet/jacket that normally runs most of the time to keep the stove sides cool, so it really helps move the air around too. it is on a temp switch around 120.

It is a SETTING in the COALTROL, that's why they posted in this section. If you don't have one, you wouldn't know.
it is called MANUAL FAN (MANFAN) Override. The fan speeds are normally Automatic based feed rate, as the feed rate increases, so does the fan speed.
BUT, sometimes, you just want a little more heat before the stove gets cranking. So, you can control the speed (0-99%) manually.
