Is your hyfire getting the air from the open bottom of the hot air jacket?
Your furnace blower may be sucking air back down the chimney.

I have only been running the stove since 12/24 but I had to shut it down for a few days because of the odor. I restarted it yesterday morning (1/1) and has been doing well until this evening. The chimney has no cap on it and may have a blockage... It's getting late tonight, will check in the AM. Thanks.

hyfire is getting air from bottom of hot air jacket. The furnance is connected to a separate chimney.

With the furnace fan running it will be sucking air out of the basement and into the hyfire jacket. It may be pulling hard enough to significantly reduce the draft on the hyfire chimney. Because the chimney can't get enough air to create a draft.(the air is being taken away by the furnace blower).
These are just some thoughts!

Can you run the hyfire without running the furnace blower? Just as a test.

Here's another possibility...............

If your house is too tight, try opening a window in the basement to allow some extra air to the stove.
