Any hardware store should sell the door seal kit. I used a 5/8" kit on mine, but I think 1/2" would also work fine.

What is the draft reading at the hole in the fire door with the unit and chimney flue fully warmed up after several minutes, and the blower still running? It should be no less than a negative .02, meaning that a reading of negative .01 is unacceptable.

It's possible your house is insulated so tightly that you may need an external vent to supply air for the stoker. A minimum opening would be 1 sq. in. for every 4,000 BTU of capacity.

Also, how long and how many elbows are in your flue piping and what is the size of your chimney and height? The air setting on the stoker could be set too high, also.

I have 8" smoke pipe coming out of the back of the DF-520 to the draft damper (7"), then to a 90 degree bend, then vertical straight piece, then to another 90 degree bend connecting to a smoke pipe reducer to 7" then to the flue opening. I'll post pictures later. The draft regulator is adjusted.

The draft at the output of the DF-520 in the smoke pipe is -0.01 running idle, and -0.02 after its been running for a couple of minutes. The boiler is in a basement with walkout slider. The draft goes from -0.02 to -0.03 if I open the slider door to the basement.

The chimney is roughly 26 feet tall going from basement to top of first floor roof of a cathedral ceiling family room right above the boiler room or basement. The family room above the boiler room has a 16x24 foundation off the main house. The chimney is capped for rain, etc. The chimney is lower than the top of the 2nd floor roof by about 12 feet.

I plan to remove the chimney cap, and seal off the whole house fan opening as a starter to improve the draft.

As long as your chimney is 2 feet higher than anything closer than 10 feet horizontally away, your tall chimney should provide good draft, barring environmental conditions and topographical obstructions, even though it sounds like it's smaller than the required 8x8.

Neg. .02 is barely or not enough draft at the breech. That's what you should have at the fire door. Another issue could be the 7" reduction at the chimney. What is the size of the chimney?

The opening into the chimney is 7" round. I am not sure what the square or rectangular size of the chimney flue is without measuring it at the top of the chimney. I'll measure it when I take off the cap.
