I have 3 - 3/4" threaded holes at the top of my Ka-4.

1 is the temp/pressure gauge
1 is the relief valve
I want to make the 3rd one the low temp aquastat shutoff.

Can I lay the aquastat down flat on top of the boiler? There is nothing in the aquastat that requires it to be upright is there?

Thanks,
Jeremy

What kimd & number is the aquastat? I just looked on Honeywell's website and it looks like the single aquastats like a L4006 can be mounted vertical or horizontal, but the relay aquastat like the L8124C call for horizontal only. I'd confirm with the manufacturer of your aquastat before doing what you're planning.
