Ive been visiting here a lot these past few days. It seems like many of you are using the Coal Trol. Do you recommend getting one. Does anyone know if you oder the option from Keystoker which unit do you get, (standard, standard+, Etc etc. I like the option of the standard+ because it has 4 settings.

Once again, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have the Standard + on My Alaska Channing III and I am very pleased with it. Works as advertised.

pclfal,

The Keystoker factory install option will come with a modified Coal-trol Standard. For Keystoker we add an interlock input on the side of the control box which they hook up to their direct vent fume switch (if it is on the stove, of course). You can request the Standard+ if you wish.

And while I certainly would recommend the Coal-trol on its own merits (I'm a bit biased :) ), there is also the cost factor. As a factory installed option you will be able to save probably at least $100 off the cost of purchasing it later as a retail product, plus you don't need to do the rewiring of the stove yourself. I don't know the pricing of the option for Keystoker, so I don't want to be too specific on what you can save, but the retail list price for the Standard is $325 and you know what the option cost quoted to you was. Make sure to throw that into your considerations.

Do you happen to know what Coal-Trol unit comes with Leisure Line Stoves, specifically the Pioneer?

The thermostat is either a normal TS2 or TS2ES. The control box is a mix of a our CM-OEM (a 4x4 plate with our circuit and connectors attached) and Leisure Line's own custom housing and electrical cabling. The CM-OEM is not listed on our website since it is only available to manufacturers. It has all the capabilities and reliability of the control box provided with a Standard or Advanced, but it is provided in a form that is suited to manufacturer installations: easy electrical connections, highly configurable, and relatively low cost.

PVolcko,

Thanks for the info, I have asked the dealer to go ahead and order the Coal-Trol. After reading some of the threads here I may not need the TS2ES. But I am looking forward to getting the unit. The savings was more than $100.00. Which is great!
