Hello,

I just somewhat installed a 35 Ft. double walled stainless steel liner down my chimney. The chimney has an offset about 8 ft from the floor in my basement. I was able to pull the liner through, however some of the liner was damaged from the offset and if you look inside the liner the inner "tab's are buckled. The rest of the liner is perfect. Anyway I can fix this problem? I do have some access to the damaged area and I was thinking about sliding a stove pipe up the liner to fix the damaged area and also to be able to connect to the top of my stove. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I ran the clay liner the past few years and no issues. It only because an issue when we renovated the first floor and the heatalator was removed and we then need a liner.

Thanks!

Tabs? Buckled? Are you saying there is a kink in the pipe? The ribs are dented? Is the liner cut open?

The ribs are dented and there are a few openings in the pipe. More like slits where it came apart. There are no actually lacerations in the liner.

Just damage to the outside of the double wall liner...
Inner liner no damage...

There is some damage inside where the inner ribs was pulled up. I would say some damage to the outside and inside.

What exactly was the reason for the liner? How far up the liner is the damage?

if you can see daylight from the inside...
The liner will not function as intended...
