Chimney Concerns

I have a Petit Godin Coal stove that I have only burned wood in for the last 20 years.
I would like to use coal this coming winter but need to make sure the chimney is safe.
The stove is on a hearth and connected by stove pipe to the flue (I plan to put in new stove pipe).
Is the current brick and mortar chimney good to use as is or do I need to line it with a metal lining?
Thanks!
