Good to know. Thanks for all the input guys.

The old torn miniscus is reeking havoc on my knee so ill have to hold off on crawling around on rafters for a while. Getting old sucks.

I'll see what i can do about getting the pad situated, stove on it and the single wall run.

Btw. This second hand tile hearth pad i picked up doesnt have an R or K rating. It just says Braun Intertec tested to UBC 43-2.

Anyone heard of that? This question is cross posted...

It's called corbeling. That's pretty mild compared to some. The mason was aiming for the space between the roof framing.
