Looking for a suggestion for the flapper that seals the end of the coal vac system as it drops into the hopper. I had weather stripping on it but it doesn't seem to last.
Thoughts?
Thanks!

I am still using a peanut lid with a yoga mat as the gasket. It's bungied to my feed box.
I have been thinking of switching to a hinged wooden lid with a counterweight for an automatic solution but the peanut lid still works great...

I like the idea of a "chute" of pipe coming from the barrel. Would allow more room if we have to add coal manually via buckets....thanks for the pic!

I have a hinged flapper attached to the end of the 4" PVC. I have a box with a hinged lid on top of the hopper so it contains all the coal dust. So I am dealing with some type of seal that needs to be fixed to the flapper.
