I just set a Leisure Line Pioneer in place in the basement with a powervent through the wall. Of course there was no great place to put it with clearances to windows and such. So I ended up with it below a PVC drain line. The top of pipe is about 8" below the pvc. At first I was trying to figure out how to box off the drain line, and make that look better too.
Then I thought I might be able to use a shield like the Imperial one below. Any thoughts?

New install, do I need a shield?

Buy a two foot length of smoke pipe. Cut in half lengthwise. Hang one half from PVC with wire, and other half propped on stove pipe with machine screws and nuts. 26 gauge galvanized from plumbing supply would be cheapest.
