My ComfortMax has a double walled flue pipe. Does anyone make an MPD to fit this type of flue pipe?

I asked for one when I purchased it, and they told me that the new fangled "EPA Stoves" (EPA regulated wood stoves) are not allowed to have one. They are sticklers for the legal stuff.
But now that the EPA regs have been tightened once again, and as a consequence my ComfortMax has been relegated to coal only, .... ???

I have no idea if this will work with your pipe and situation but... https://www.menards.com/main/heating-cooling/vent ... 615&ipos=3

Thanks! That is double walled. I'll have to find out if Selkirk double walled will mate up with Olympia double walled, as my ComfortMax's flue and chimney are Olympia products.warminmn wrote: ↑Mon. That may be the only 'off the shelf' option out there...and can only be inserted between existing joints with whatever adapters required.
Only other option I can think of is for our custom fab shop member Chris Devito of CDIndustries in NY, to extend pivot rod on both sides of damper to allow for the additional O.D. size beyond that of the single wall pipe style.

Many years ago i used some of the other products of that brand. If memory serves me, one of the ends matched up backwards, and I think I used a slip over adapter on the other side and screwed it on. I have some of that pipe but cant get to it until spring as the building door is frozen solid to the ground so I cant check.
McG might be onto something with a custom made product.

Perhaps I could just buy any old off the shelf MPD and have a local shop extend the rod on both ends. ???McGiever wrote: ↑Mon. Feb. 18, 2019 12:23 pmThat may be the only 'off the shelf' option out there...and can only be inserted between existing joints with whatever adapters required.

isnt the castiron damper at the top of the stove helping you or do you have a rather strong draft and need a little more draft controll `.

Funny that you asked. Not more than a day or two after I started this thread I was discussing the installation of an MPD with my wife, and she was of the same opinion as you, in that the cast iron flue gas diverter plate at the top of the ComfortMax is for all intents and purposes also an effective MPD. This was the lecture that I received when I suggested to her that we should install an MPD. Needless to say, I won't be pursuing this project.
