Today I made up a new "nozzle" for the suction end. I went from 2"-1.5" PVC. Quite a difference!
I currently have 2 vacs set up my older Craftsman 6&4.5 hp. I have 1 dust deputy on the 4.5. Right now it seems like every 2 weeks I will be cleaning the filter. So my plan is to modify the system ,since it is working so good, to this. 2 new Rigid vacs 6hp,1 more Dust Deputy. Then fabricate a sound proof box for the vacs. Also incorporating the filter bags. Since I run my K2 all year this will be a worth while investment.

Glad you were able to get it tweaked into working for you!

Are the two vac's plumbed via a "Y" ? A couple pics would be interesting to check out!

No "y". I just drilled a second 2.5" hole for the second vac.

If you have easy access to the outside i would route the vac exhaust outdoors. Even though the filters do a fair job, you will still get fine dust distributed throughout your basement. Your horizontal PVC run will collect a lot of the dust with the static charge.

I just ordered a dust deputy and getting ready to start mine. I was going to use 2" pvc going to the tank that the coal will collect in above the hopper. Planned on using shop vac hose attached to the 2" pvc to suck out of my storage bin. I need a flex joint above the bin so just wondered if that would work? Do they make adapters to attach the large shop vac hose to pvc?

I am using 2" PVC fittings and then I add a few wraps of duct tape to the vac hose. It works!

I used a heat gun to soften the 2" PVC and then shoved the shop vac hose in for a custom fit. It worked great. ..

Why not parallel the vacs before going into the dust deputy you already have?

Now I have a question. I thought I read that if I did that both vacs have to be identical. Is this correct? Also would I just use a "y" fitting?

Yes, a Y configuration. Gives you double the airflow (CFM) with identical vacs (theoretically). I would not think it matters if vacs are identical but you wouldn't want them to be too far off from each other

This is what I had envisioned but does all the dust get sucked out with this configuration?

Not sure what you are asking, but heating the PVC this way gives a very tight fit. No leaks at all...
