K, I'm not sure what you are asking... I use the rigid shop vac extension on my shop vac hose to suck up the coal. Usually I just use one of the 3' sections that come with the shop vac hose

Thanks! Yes, I tried the small diameter "bypass" tube and it seems to help. One thing I noticed in the link. He used 1 1/2" PVC. I used 2". Wondering if my results would improve by reducing the diameter. Maybe part of the run in a smaller diameter?

There is yet another, a pipe within a pipe...these are common for unloading 'gaylords'.

Actually yesterday I made up a "wand". I had a 30" length of 1 1/2" PVC and a length of 1/2". I had a 1/2" street ell and inserted it about 12" from the end. I also cut the 11/2" end at an angle. Slowly I am tweaking the system!
