I currently use IBC totes but I think it would be easier to use the large seed bags but the question I have is how do you fill them at the mine? With my totes I have the top cut out and they fill them with a front end loader. I can't see anyway to load those bags with a front end loader and at the Lehigh mine that I go to the chute for at the breaker is really high (to load semi's). Is there a good/easy way?

you need a frame to keep them upright and open...
Dose't need to hold the weight just open with the bottom of the bag on the deck...

The sacs are called Supersacs. Blaschak has a setup for filling them, not sure about Lehigh.

Why would u want to switch from the IBC totes?

Why not just build small walls your trailer and have them put it right on the trailer? You could unload it with the skid steer.

Supersacs are great...just don't let them sit in the sun. Sunlight will destroy them in about one summer's time.

That's how I do it now but I have not cut any holes in my totes to unload them yet. A super sack has a hole in the bottom and I would not need to build a platform to unload them like my totes, I could just raise it up over my chute and let it fly. With the tote I need to strap them to the forks so when I tilt forward, it won't slide off the forks.

I think that would be a lot more work and cleanup than having the coal in containers. I think there would definitely be added waste and fines without using containers unless I used my dump trailer and could pour right into a chute. Dump trailer only can haul 6 ton though.

Tote or bag wouldn't fit through the man door or if I dumped it loose I would have to shovel in the bin. I have a access hole directly in the center of my coal bin....or at least where I'm going to build my coal bin!
