I've been following this project since you started. Great Job! But you need to frame in that new opening before you can say you're finished.

That will happen sometime this Winter, I need to build a door from the foyer to the basement too while I’m at it. It’s sort of nice the way it is because the snow no longer lays on the porch to be cleaned off but that is slot of BTUs wasted too. :o

I just got to read this entire post. What a great job! Looks nice. I am glad that the union members were not to hard to please. If they were railroads it might be a different story, but then they would not be able to strike. Now you can enjoy loading the coal barrel from the warm house after a long day.

It was a great project and Coaljockey did a great job of documenting it. Unfortunately, I don't think he's on here anymore.

He is alive and well, but very busy after taking over the family business. The next time I talk to him I will see if I can get him to check in with all of us.
