Iv figured out a way to keep my stoker going in warmer weather. I just cut the feed rate way back to just under my heat load which keeps the fan going 24/7. Boiler is only maintaining 120 -140 instead of the usual 160 and up but the house is warm now and the weak draft isnt killing the fire everytime the daytime temps go above 60.

Will that damage the boiler? I shut this boiler down every summer for the last 20 yrs , so boiler temp is 70 deg all summer.CapeCoaler wrote: ↑Tue. Apr. 13, 2021 9:35 pmToo low on the boiler temp...

This corrosion is about the fire against a reduced temperature wet wall of the boiler. So shut- down boiler with no fire is unaffected.

There is two potential issues with the wood. While using the coal cresote build up from the wood fire can come loose and even come down in big chunks potentially blocking the flue. The other issue is don't use a barometric damper with the coal unless the chimney has been cleaned. If the creosote were to catch you now have a chimney fire on steroids because the barometric damper is providing it all the air it needs.

Will this occur if the return water only intermittently drops below 150 as there is no way to control the water temp of the return water from cold radiators.

Intermittent can not be as bad as constant.
But your statement that return water temperature back into boiler from the emitters cannot be controlled is totally incorrect.
Read up on “boiler bypass “ or perhaps “primary secondary piping”
