Goverment Liquidation Auction. http://www.govliquidation.com/
Prices on an M105 range from $200-1000 depending on location and condition. I had to buy 2 in one lot to get mine for $250 each, out of Dayton OH. They are a bit large for a pickup. The M101's are perfect for a pickup. I still have 2 of them, sold 7 for a small profit. They are getting hard to find and prices are climbing up, usually $500+. The 2 I still have I paid $150 and $300 for. Couldn't touch either of them for under $500 now.

I also have the M35 Deuce 1/2 truck to move it with too.

I finally got a coal bin built, halfway through my second heating season with coal

I still need to build a chute though, I had to lug 3.5 tons of UAE Harmony nut in 5 gallon buckets! Need to add a coal chute next.

Not much head room, just made it. I'm burning buckwheat coal.

This my second install. The first was down on the lower left hole. The 4 inch auger was only ten feet long and I had to make the box for the auger to pick up the coal. I had to shovel the coal into the corner. Now I have a 5 ft extension and it is much better. I had to increase the pulley from 7 inches to 12 inches for more power. The auger is a Jet Flow with a 2 HP 240 vac motor.

Got my coal bin finished yesterday and got it filled today with 6 tons of Stockton Anthracite! $235 per ton delivered... This stuff is beautiful! No fines, white ash and sized consistent.. Can't wait to fire it up 6 months from now hahaha... Next season's heating bill is paid in full, very comforting 8-)

Thought I would add my contribution to the fun. Just finished it in the rain and will it hold about 40 tons, remember I use about 15 tons a year. Two eye hooks attach to the roof and it lifts off with my 25 ton digger. I then take down the wall made with the 2 ton blocks, organize what is left with the skid steer and the TT load comes in. The next plan is cancel TV and install an $80 security camera and a little light and gaze at it all evening. Hah, to think people think I am crazy.

Hmmm, of course I would need better radiation detection ...... hmmmm. Perhaps a pill box against invading armies... now the mind is racing.

As long as your mind is racing, how about put a couple more gussets on the roof, flip it over, and use it when needed as a scoop for your 25-ton digger? Saves wear on the skidsteer and the time you save handling coal inventory (not to mention horse by-products) could be spend tending more stoves.

I forgive you Mike as you live in MA, the strain must be terrible.  Of course, the next project is preparing my nut coal storage which you know about well.

Here's my latest Rube Goldberg device for loading my coal bin. It's a 55 gallon plastic drum split length wise and bolted together. Worked great once I got the range on dumping the bucket in the right spot. I'll improve on it for next year.

Rube Goldberg wishes his ideas could be so practical. I wish my house was suited to an indoor coal bin.

I believe this is the highest and best use for a fuel oil tank.

Now that is justice. Using a fuel oil tank on end for a rice coal storage bin. I LOVE IT :punk:
