Does anyone have a couple 24 volt LEDs they would part with? I believe my thermostat transformer is 24v AC. I can PayPal money for your time and trouble. Color isn't an issue, I'd prefer green if possible.

Thanks :)

Use a diode and then voltage divider.

That's what we're planning for the project my daughter and I are working on.

Thanks for the replies. I found this on EBay.
PL1601G ATI 16mm 5/8" Green 24V AC DC LED Signal Indicator Pilot Light $3.95 each
Should be perfect for what I need. I just wanted an indicator light for my furnace monitor board to illuminate when the thermostat is calling for heat. That way I know what's going on when I view it remotely.. :)

Lee,
They look like real nice pilot lights, 24Volt are very hard to find like you say.
I have seen these type before...make sure they are 24V.
Myself, I just take an LED and solder it in series with a 1K resistor. I have them on
my honeywell zone valves to indicate which zone valve is calling for heat.

I also have small pilot light control boards (5) through out the house so I can
see what zones and circulators are running. ....and when stoker is running and
when oil burner is firing... and an overheat indicator....Then if lights are just so, I have
advance warning to make a run for it !

For added safety, I also have an AXIS web cam that I have aimed at the stoker and the pilot light control board so I know everything is OK back at the house while
I am on the road... IF I get an unnecessarily long overheat indication, while on the road I can remotely shut off the stoker motor, yet the circulators will continue to run to cool off system. Just in case... I am a fanatic about fire safety.

Just maybe you'll find out the light is on when the stat is off and off when the stat is on...depends on if you have a common wire or not. ;)

In series w/o a common, in parallel w/ a common. :)

For others following along, 2-12 volt LEDs connected in series = 24 volts. ------O-----x-----O-----

So here's the effect I was looking for. Thermostat is calling for heat.

Lee,

You need an amber light now for the "all clear signal" - the stove is done and it's safe to come out from behind the sand bags. :D

The red display on the left measures water temp of the DHW coil. The red display on the right measures the warm air supply. Then the remote BBQ thermometer measures two temps which are over the load door and flue pipe.

That's a sweet setup makes me wish I had cell phone service or Internet that could stream video at home
