I'm looking for some advice on sizing a chimney.
I'll be installing a National 200 boiler in a detached building to heat a garage and feed hot water back to the hot water heating system in the house. The boiler is about 110k BTU and has 5 grates and a 9" round exhaust. I plan on building a tile-lined masonry chimney inside the building.
It will be approximately 27' tall.
Am I correct in assuming that I need to use the 8"x 13" liner?
The smaller square liner will only take a 6" input and I think reducing from 9" to 6" is too extreme.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
I'm in SW PA just East of Pgh.

No,you wouldn't want to choke down any coal appliance, especially a bituminous burner with all it's soot to cling on the inner surface of the chimney.
