Nice day out there today. Roof melted just fine and I was able to pull the SS liner.

Nice views from the rooftop but uneasy at times due to my fear of heights. :D

You scored big time! Be careful with fitment of your thimble. Maybe using an angle grinder with a diamond wheel to soften up the edges. Happy New Year :!:

Nice job! Why was there a ss liner anyway? Is that required by code with gas?

Reduce the cross sectional size.

It might of been aluminum and not even stainless.

Haven't made the new hole yet. The pic was the old hole.

I was also wondering about smoothing the edges when I make the new hole. I have a diamond blade for my angle grinder. I'll probably pick up an extra piece of terracotta to see how the drilling and smoothing goes before I drill into the flue. :)
