Finally had a few minutes today to test this myself. Plenty of draft to be had today and the baro is doing its thing. Top mano is plumbed between the baro and stove, bottom mano is between the baro and chimney. Ignore the levels on the mano, pic makes them look off and I used a seperate level to be sure their right on. both were zeroed just prior pic was taken with the stoker not running.

Occasionlly the baro will max out but draft hasn't ever been over .06 with it at full burn and the baro maxed.titleist1 wrote:Good info, thanks for the pic! That is a nice strong draft at idle! Is there room for the baro to open wider when at full burn?
Any idea what the flue temps are?
I just checked stack temps towards the end of a run with an IR gun. 200 at the breech and 96 just before the chimney. There is about 7 ft of stove pipe before it hooks into the chimney

Think of it this way Lee....Lightning wrote:Well then, there's only one logical explanation here, I have a magic baro
I have a compressor in my shop set at 120 psi.
I have a pressure regulator on the outlet of the compressor tank.
It's inlet pressure is 120, it's outlet is set to 60 psi regulated outlet pressure (think stove side of the baro.
One side is 120, the other 60.
From now on pretend the baro is the pressure regulator on my compressor

OK ...Here is another one Today the ot is 26* with a slight wind. Left side is almost -.04 below the baro, Right side is the same almost -.04 above the baro.
Baro is set at -.04 and. door is almost wide open
I'll make sure I take another look at it when the wind really picks up.

It's just weird that these comparisons are all over the place like that. I dunno, kinda puzzling. I only have one manometer so I can't compare in real time as you saw in the short video I made. See now Paulie is seeing the same thing I do with my readings. Open Baro and nearly same reading on both sides..
I know it's just trivial but, it would be interesting to figure out what makes it tick that way.

Hey now, lets not complicate things with generators, cups of coffee, worm holes, dark matter and air compressors...scalabro wrote: Think of it this way Lee....

I catch yer draft --- er I mean drift, partner.. Good analogy.

So here are my findings, the magnehilic is between boiler and first Baro, other gauge is at chimney thimble.. I NEVER would of thought this to work like this..
