I need to find a place to purchase some reasonably priced venting for my EFM520.
I have the main pipe already in place I just need some black single wall to pipe over to it.
Anyone have any good ideas where to purchase it.
Best Regards CS

I would like to find a location on the web first and then go and get or order and pick up.
I am having trouble finding a selection with price and sizes with fittings.

Find your local HVAC supply house, they should have everything you need. And a better quality product than the box stores, commercial grade stuff.

Most hardware stores and big box stores consider stove pipe "seasonal". They only stock it in the Fall and Winter.
Lucky for me I know where the "back room" is at my local. Thats where they keep the stove pipe (and the beer) in the Summer.

Hi all,
It has been a long time i admit. A lot of changes to the site it looks great.
Unfortunately this is not just a social call.
i woke up a couple of days ago and noticed what i think a chlorine like odor that seem to be accumulating near my basement ceiling area and then would disappear slowly. It seems to be only when the unit is stoking.
I admit that my last thorough cleaning was almost a year ago but my draft still seems fine based on my readings.
I plan to do a tear down so i can perform a routine maintenance and cleaning to the venting and the areas inside the boiler like usual. I am running a skid system (Vermont Days design) so checking for auger blockage at the inlet will also be part of the inspection. I guess i am just looking for some feedback if anyone has any similar experiences.
Thank You in advance
As always best regards

Yeah it is strange, i agree.
i have the unfortunate experience of having smelled SO2 in the past which is sulfur dioxide and i would describe the odor similar to that.

Rob,
i have it on my radar for this Saturday morning.
I am hoping that a general cleaning of the vent and the boiler will do it and of course an inspection of of the auger inlet.
Otherwise off come the jackets if necessary and pull the blower and pot for a real close inspection. That may have to wait till the temps warm a little though. we will see.

Cleaning complete, odor is still faintly there periodically but a major improvement.
I will say that i am recording the service dates of the boiler now there was way too much fly ash build up.

disappear! You on a well or a chlorinated Muni Water System? If on a well, have You recently sanitized the well casing and system? Sounds Crazy, but what else would You expect from me? A water leak on a Domestic Hot Water Coil flashing over and escaping through pinhole corroded black pipe, while a real reach, could happen...

I'll be damned! Well,to Hell with it,time to start with a shut down and clean that muffin up,check pipe, thimble and flue and all the rest of the usual suspects. If you don't have any CO Meters, grab some. Get a Mano too
