We all use the manometer too measure our drafts, what else do you use them for? Lightning had mentioned it but I don't think there was a dedicated thread for it, I have started using it to check my filter in the cold air return duct, the last time I cleaned my filter was about a 3 weeks ago, it is just a plain furnace filter that can be cut to fit, before touching anything I driled a hole and hooked the manometer to it, it measured .18 WC, I took the filter off and it measured .04, wow what a restriction! With a new filter it measures .12 WC. Just figured I'd share this, I wonder what else we could use these for..

Yep - they work great for measuring flow through filters.

I think these are too light duty to be used in any automotive applications, however. Since I have forced hot water, that would be my only use other than for the chimney.

Suggestions on where to purchase one and what one to purchase? I'm on my second winter with zero training with a coal stove and have never used a manometer.
Thank goodness for this forum!!

They are great tools and most of us here feel that they should be mandatory with every coal unit.
