I saw a direct vent Harman Stoker on ebay go for over 2K a while back. Now in my house a have a Heartmate that sits in front of my fireplace. But at my workshop I still heat with oil. I cannot cut any holes in the building so how does this direct vent work. Can you use any stove and let it vent into the heating area ?? I also think I saw a direct vent pellet stove at Home Depot is there such an animal. Looking for a way to get away from oil at my workshop.

ALL exhausts must go outside for ANY type of combustion stoves. (coal, pellet, etc..)

A direct vent and/or power vent, is basically that, it is a blower that pushes or sucks the exhaust gases outside, YOU still must have it vented outside, but does not require a tall chimney, just a opening on the outside with either the power vent or a Tee and Cap.

Direct vents mount on the stove and PUSH the air outside.

A power vent, mount on the side of the building and pulls the exhaust gases outside.

Do a search on here for Power Vents....
